Job Purpose

As our next Financial Controller, you will have the responsibility to analyze financial performance, provide recommendations for improvement, support corporate finance initiatives (business planning, budgeting, treasury management) and drive financial reporting to internal & external stakeholders.

As a consequence of the recent acquisition of Univercells Technologies by Donaldson, you will closely interact with the Donaldson finance team at the EMEA HQ in Leuven, Belgium. You will also lead the finance stream of the integration plan and ultimately integrate into the larger Finance team covering Donaldson’s Life Science vertical.

As an active member of the finance team, you will be involved in the full spectrum of financial activities in a dynamic environment. You will join a collaborative team full of passionate change-makers at Univercells Technologies and will partner with and grow into Donaldson Company’s Finance team in Belgium.

Responsibilities

Accounting & Controlling

• Drive financial reporting to internal & external stakeholders (Donaldson Finance team, granting bodies, leadership team, project teams).

• Work in close collaboration with the accounting team to ensure the accuracy of financial reports, timely supplier payment processing and customer payment collection.

• Partner with Donaldson Finance in aligning inventory accounting; item and project costing standardization.

• Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings & recommendations.

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement, working closely with all business teams and Donaldson’s Life Sciences finance team. 

• Actively participate in the business planning and budgeting process.

• Support corporate finance initiatives.

• Proactively evaluate working capital needs and partner with Donaldson’s Treasury team to maintain cash forecasting and ensure proper support for financing business growth. 

Donaldson Integration

• Align financial processes with Donaldson’s standard way of working.

• Act as the Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the ERP migration (current ERP is Odoo and will move to Oracle in the future). 

Your Profile

• Master’s degree in economics, finance, business engineering or similar.

• 5+ years of relevant experience with a specific focus on accounting expertise (GAAP accounting knowledge and experience are also a positive attribute).

• Problem-solving skills and strong analytical capability.

• Attention to detail, project management discipline, and the ability to successfully manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

• A high level of entrepreneurial spirit and drive, combined with great interpersonal skills.

• Fluent in English (written and oral) and French. Dutch and other languages are a plus. 

• High proficiency in Excel.

• Experience with Odoo and Oracle is a plus.
